Beautiful (yellow) glow The corporate headquarters of ARAG Versicherung rise almost 125 meters above the north of Düsseldorf, making it an important landmark of the state capital. Built by Norman Foster and the Düsseldorf office RKW+ (Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky), its architecture has attracted a great deal of national attention since its opening in 2001.
Not only its size contributed to this, but also the ground plan in the form of an ellipse and the eye-catching double glazing. Now Düsseldorf’s largest office tower is even more visible. Since the surrounding facade drainage channels and the linear grates above them were replaced during the renovation of the forecourt, it was also possible to integrate effective lighting. Just like gutters and grates, it comes from TTC Technology/ADO Lights. Over a length of 38 metres, the façade gutters can now accommodate LED outdoor luminaires as wallwashers.
These radiate upwards and thus effectively emphasise the entrance area of the building: The canopy is elegantly illuminated from below – in exactly the same colour as the corporate design. The warm yellow tone creates an inviting atmosphere and a clear orientation point for visitors.
